War of the Barons - Man at Arms
Men-at-arms are professional soldiers, well-trained in the art of war. They form the backbone of any medieval army, serving their lords in exchange for land or pay.
Mandatory Kit Items:
A padded gambeson or a chainmail hauberk. Surcoat or tabard to go over your armor in the color(s) of your baron (you may add your baron’s sigil, but it is not required). A simple medieval helm, such as a kettle hat or nasal helm. Leather boots or period-appropriate shoes. Tunic and pants, in basic linen, wool, silk, or textured cotton. Your choice of a spear, sword and shield, axe, or mace.
Optional Kit Items:
Period-appropriate pouches or bags. Additional weaponry like daggers, maces, spears, and battle axes. Leather gloves suitable for the period. A cloak or cape for staying warm in camp at night. A 13th century style kite or heater shield painted with your baron’s colors.
